How are geopolitical shifts reshaping relations between Latin America and Europe?
Rising geopolitical rivalries, ongoing conflicts, economic tensions, and growing challenges to democratic institutions are transforming the global landscape, with increasingly direct consequences for citizens' everyday lives. What do these changes mean for Latin America and Europe? Can their partnership help address shared challenges, from democratic resilience and technological transformation to migration, climate action, and an evolving international order?
This event brings together leading scholars and public intellectuals to discuss democracy, geopolitical change, regional cooperation, and the future of Europe–Latin America relations.

Detlef Nolte - Research associate at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) in Hamburg.
Yanina Welp - Professor at the University of Girona (Spain), co-principal investigator of the project "Popular Government in Global Perspective" (ERC-Synergy Grant), and senior researcher at the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy in Geneva.
Lorena Ruano - Professor at the Complutense University of Madrid. Spanish-Mexican academic whose research and teaching have focused on European integration and Europe–Latin America relations, with an emphasis on Mexico.
Jordi Soler - Writer and journalist. Author of two poetry collections, four essay books, and 14 novels, translated into several languages and recognized with numerous awards.
