LAC-EU will hold a summer school in Barcelona from September 15 to 19
Following a highly successful first network event in York in March 2025, the entire LAC-EU doctoral network will gather for its summer school, titled ‘Reimagining EU and LAC Relations.’ Hosted by the University of Barcelona, this event will span four and a half days. PhD researchers from the network will be joined by representatives from various institutions and other experts in relations between the European Union, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
During the summer school, PhD researchers will participate in enriching activities, including presenting their research projects to network members, receiving feedback, and engaging in workshops and lectures tailored to their research needs.
As part of the programme, on Tuesday, 16th September, at 18:30, the summer school will host a roundtable discussion titled ‘Rethinking Latin America–Europe Relations: What Is at Stake in the 2025 EU–CELAC Summit’, organised by Casa Amèrica Catalunya and IBEI.
This discussion will initiate a series of roundtable discussions, cultural events, and policy dialogues jointly organised by Casa Amèrica Catalunya and IBEI over the next three years. These activities will take place within the framework of our Doctoral Network and EULAS, in collaboration with European and LAC members and partners, to promote and strengthen cultural and political ties between Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
See you soon in Barcelona!
