The Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals, coordinator of LAC-EU, invites applications for a Project Manager position for our Doctoral Network.
The project promotes respectful, non-Eurocentric research and collaboration. LAC-EU is an integrated PhD programme that delivers world-class, interdisciplinary research and training in the social and political sciences, law and the humanities. It also includes research exchanges and policy-relevant secondments across the EU and LAC regions. Research themes include populism, democracy, gender rights, trade, migration, health, global cities, sustainability and green finance, and cultural learning.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational and administrative management of the project and will support the implementation of the action plan per the rules and procedures of IBEI and MSCA–Doctoral Networks.
Responsibilities include:
Drafting interim and final project reports, and supporting audits, evaluations, and inquiries.
Preparing and presenting regular progress updates and project plans.
Organising seminars, workshops, meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.
Managing procurement of equipment and services.
Coordinating communication between PhD researchers and project partners.
Overseeing dissemination and communication activities, and liaising with other related research initiatives.
Maintaining the website and the network’s social media profiles.
Monitoring project budget, expenditure, and financial reporting.
Administering contracts and agreements.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in political science, sociology, or a closely related field. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. A background in research project management or a PhD degree is considered an asset. Familiarity with the coordination of European projects and/or doctoral networks will be highly valued. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic, international team, are essential.
The position is expected to start in September 2025 and will continue until the conclusion of the project in January 2028.
Salary will be commensurate with similar administrative positions at IBEI.
